Respectable Sins: Confronting the Sins We Tolerate
    By Jerry Bridges
    see related
Day and night they never stop saying: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come." Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:
"You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
       for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
       and have their being."
                                                                                                    (from Rev. 4)

In pursuit of Michelle's worthy suggestion, I offer a Biblical peak into Heaven ~ into real and eternal worship. Oh, to more fully understand true worship ~ the wholehearted, joyful, ongoing worship that goes on in Heaven ~ and to know that for all the worship currently being offered, that it is our unique privilege to join in with the eternal throng to offer worship. Since the creation of earth, God has always had a group from earth joining in with the angels. May we fully embrace this privilege!

Amen to that! Sometimes I think some Christians take it for granted the privilege we have to worship the One who created us. It makes it more wonderful for us to worship Him, since he saved us from our sin.
By the way, I am not sure if I have ever posted on your site before, so if not, then I guess this is the first time. I am Mark's brother Matt by the way.

Wonderful thought!  Thanks for encouraging us to "set our affections on heavenly things!"  It is so easy to forget to worship while in the midst of the day's whirlwind activities.

One more thing I've got to say:  My thoughts have recently turned to heaven.  I love people, and I hate having to say goodbye -- even if it is just leaving a good conversation at church, or at the end of an evening of fellowship in our home.  Won't it be wonderful to have full and complete fellowship, uninterrupted by necessary chores or time constraints, where we all are in complete harmony unencumbered by sin and strife, worshiping God together who is the author of sweet fellowship?

I can vouch for Michelle on that one! It was unreal how many times she ALMOST got left and how many times she DID get left after church, just because she could not say good bye! You are right though about our fellowship in Heaven will be for all eternity

I TOTALLY agree with Michelle.  Sometimes I wonder if I'm too temporally focused, because I seem to miss people way too much.  I can't wait for heaven too... and no SIN to mess up our relationships!!  HOORAY!

Thanks for that wonderful post, Sue. I sure wish that us christians could really grab ahold of all that God wants for us. We would really change the world around us if we did. May we worship as we should so that we could live life the way that we could! Empowered by the Holy Spirit.

I'm sorry! I posted the picture in my facebook note, but I neglected to do so on xanga. Ooops... I'll remedy that.

And yes, it is crazy not to be working at camp. The summer seems to be going by super slowly, but it's just going normal pace, which I'm not used to. But hey! It gives me some time to write! That's good!

Hey Sue,  One week from today we arrive in San Francisco!!!    I should be packing and the way I fuss at the kids for being on the computer when they should be packing...... I would really be in trouble!    Couldn't resist to take a peek at Amber and Jake's new post.... and then check out a few others.  Pam will be in contact to work out details for our CA trip. I hope we won't be too much trouble for everyone, but we are really looking forward to "really"  meeting all you dear folks!    It won't be long!  Blessings dear Sis!
